One Fish at a Time

May 25, 2016 Tracy Wilson

The fisherman doesn't try to pull in the whole ocean of fish at one time. He puts his sites on one. Just one. And then another. And another.

That hit me as I came across this picture today of my boy doing what he loves most. We'd all do well to follow the rhythm of the fishers, whether we're checking things off the holiday to-do list, or taking steps toward something big we've always wanted to accomplish, or muddling through tough times. Life can be overwhelming, but when we approach it like an angler, the tidal waves calm like the ocean waters on a windless summer day.

Deep, cleansing breathes and focussed casts, my friends. One day, one moment, one step at a time.
