The Big Joy of Little Things - Day 5

August 1, 2016 Tracy Wilson
The view I will never stop noticing. No need for a filter or editing here.

The view I will never stop noticing. No need for a filter or editing here.

August 1

Many years ago, I looked out from the little mountaintop plot of land Hubs and I bought and I stared at the beauty beyond me. “I hope we never become immune to this view,” I said.  We’ve now lived on that same spot for six years and rarely does a day go by that I don’t stop and take in nature’s offering. One day it’s a blazing red sunrise, another it’s a storm of clouds and a sheet of rain in the distance, and another it’s the autumn show with millions of yellow and red speckles on the trees. And never have I become immune to this Divine canvas in the distance.

And that’s what I hope for with the other things in my life that are ever present, the things that are easy to take for granted. Today, I focussed on those things in my gratitude offering and encourage you to as well because no matter how hard it is to see good in your world, you are still breathing, my friend, and life is always a gift.

Here's to the things that spoil us with their daily presence and the things that come in wonderful ways and then go. All are blessings to be counted.

The Big Joy of Little Things - Day 5 and I am grateful for…

 17. Extended family who share my history, who know the inside jokes and the old stories and who share today.  Thank you for being here for me.

18. When the sun wedges its way in between a rainy morning and a rainy afternoon, just in time for a cookout with friends.

19. Friends, old and new, who listen without judgement when we are battling the tough stuff, and who advise and reassure us. You are more important than you know.

20.  Turning plain water into something special with a few slices of cucumber and orange and downing it on a hot day.

If you need a little help getting into the habit of looking for The Little Things, add your email below and I’ll send you reminders. And please pass this on to others so we can spread the joy far and wide because joy starts with gratitude.

Peace, love and gratitude

Tracy
